Image for teaser poster

We took many different photographs so that we could experiment with what would work best for our teaser poster. We finally decided to use the image below as we believe that the pillars either side of the main female protagonist frame the image effectively.

Final Locations

We have chosen the main setting for our film trailer. We've chosen to film our trailer on the Bolton Abbey estate. We've chosen this location due to it's unspoilt landscape which gives anchorage to the countryside setting but also makes it easier to keep the mise-en-scene simple so that their is no evidence of modern day life and therefore in keeping with an early 19th Century setting.

In our trailer the main protagonist will appear outside her house. We wanted it to appear upper class but understated, fitting with the countryside setting and the everyday life that she leads.

Also in our trailer the main protagonist attends a Ball. Obviously due to the early 19th Century it would be nearly impossible to find an inside location to fit with this era so we have decided to film this section of the trailer outside the venue of the Ball. We chose this location due to it's grand appearance which will fit the occasion but along with the greenery still signifies the countryside.

Useful websites for genre research

These websites have been very useful for my genre research. One has a timeline of all Period (costume) Dramas giving the dates of the setting of the films. This means that I can look at film trailers with a similar time setting that we have planned for our film.
